James Hitchen         Addiction & Eating Disorder Specialist

Before re training as a counsellor James spent 17 years in the event and hospitality industry. He trained at Richmond College and the National Centre for Eating Disorders and he is a passionate advocate for recovery. His focus is Addiction and Eating Disorders. James is familiar with the 12 step philosophy, as well as being a recovery coach and a wellbeing consultant helping clients to look after their mental, physical, spiritual and emotional health to heal, find meaning and thrive in life. James works with clients in a 1:1 capacity.

Lucy Tomkins       Supporting Families Affected by Addiction

Lucy Tomkins, founder of Family Recovery UK, ICF and BALM accredited, Family Recovery Life Coach.  After 25 years of self-development and having experienced the impact of addiction both as a mother and a wife, Lucy volunteered for 5 years as a support worker with an addiction charity before qualifying as a Family Recovery Life Coach and starting Family Recovery UK in 2017. Lucy is now fulfilling her passion, and purpose, to raise awareness around the importance of recovery for the whole family by helping families reclaim their lives and help their loved one find a path to recovery.  Lucy runs an online, interactive, Family Recovery Programme, comprising of weekly, 90-minute classes, specifically designed to give families the education, support, skills, tools, and community to start to heal from the impact of another’s addiction, and start contributing towards a positive outcome for themselves, their family and their loved one

Matthew Stainer   Group Therapist

Matthew is a qualified and accredited addictions therapist with over 6 years’ experience of working alongside adults with substance use disorders and behavioural addictions.

Having developed his group therapy style in several in-patient addiction / behavioural health settings, his synthesis of addiction counselling, psychotherapy and human-to-human relatedness means he is an empathic and attuned group facilitator.

Beginning his training at the University of Bath, where he trained in Addictions Counselling, Matthew has gone on to study integrative psychotherapy at The Sherwood Institute in Nottingham, to continue to develop his understanding of the human condition and the role of addictive / compulsive behaviours within that.
